The main tasks at my first car salesman job came with a major checklist at the dealership. The first thing we do in the mornings include observing and starting each car at the dealership. Take note of the cars to see if any system errors present, let them run for a few minutes to keep the vehicles fresh, then cut them off and leave them unlock for easy access for the customers.

Once the day is started we commit to a full 10 hours of customer service and rapport building with our clients that walk in or have set appointments. We provide customer service over phone when there are no walk ins, so we become pretty efficient with customer relationship management software (CRM) like Pro-Max or CDK- Roadster. These situations lead us to the round table where we go over the clients credit and financial background, which leads the company to an approval or denial from a lender/bank. 

 

In the business of car sales, walking in and out of the finance office and learning credit solutions can rise the credit and finance consulting IQ. Once a person becomes literate in in credit and finances, managing customer records and accounts becomes second nature. The computer skills and calculations that are used help salesman become better with interest rates and negotiations with clients. During my time with the company I've also managed accounts receivables from customers in amounts up to $20,000 in cash, credit and debit.

This career helped me gain knowledge and understanding of the full process by overseeing preparation of financial documents and statements. The skills of negotiation, critical thinking and problem solving help a salesman execute the duties of closing the deal. The training and preparation helped with risk handling and predicting future outcomes to help ensure the company's financial health, along with the client.

​After this experience, the skills that I've retained make me an elite candidate for the sales and consumers business. Time in the car sales industry comes with skills of finance, sales and hospitality. Knowing the product is an extra perk once you have all of the people skills. Once a known as a trustworthy salesman with integrity, there are no limits to the success a person can have as a salesman. ​The main skills that were gained during my first sales job, they come in handy in so many places of business. The training was very intense, we learn each and every way solar can help the client save money and save on energy. The core job is bringing personality and passion to help in every room. Door to door sales is not for the weak, the hours are very lengthy. Hours in the heat, cold, rain or snow... the customer awaits behind one of these doors. 

The best part of it all was meeting great home owners and gaining knowledge about the career and investments they chose to make to get where they are now. Getting to know home owners and building rapport lead me to a great number of closing presentations and closed deals. As a salesman, we present and answer any questions needed to assist clients in gaining knowledge about making a decision on solar solutions and saving energy. Saving money and bringing down the bill is the main objective

Meraki equipped us with all of the training and skills needed, the rest was up to us as salesman. Extra training was given to help us as a salesman, learning to help our customers boost and fix their own credit on Credit Karma and Experian. This training helped all salesmen to take in credit denials and then help the customer fix some things on their credit for a later dated approval. Meraki helped me gain the skills to complete full home energy audits, observe electric bills and wattage usage, negotiate, and most of all educate and sell solar to home owners.

Working with Meraki solar solutions made me a great candidate to be a deal and contract closer. I have a niche for making even the most misunderstood detail be understood. The main tasks of this entrepreneurship journey were to have personality, character, comfortability with people no matter the time. Ground promo is a must, getting out there with the people and making sure your a likeable person. Everything in advertisement including web promo, paper promo, motivational speeches, commercials, radio skits, music videos, YouTube and google ads, social media ads and management, all  the way down to even publicity stunts. This business demands consistency and quality of work. As a CEO and also a musical artist, the job brings in very long work hours

The skills learned in this business can be used in any industry, especially a career around people or technology. Ive learned to have comfortability with computers, software installs, studio equipment, camera installs and management, music recording software utilization, audio engineering, book keeping, and even time management. 

We have meetings with other managers to help them manage their artists profiles, music distribution and set up their artists performances. My management position in music and entertainment became very valuable at some point of the business, others have even had my company co-manage their artists and record label activities.

 

This business is very high in labor and people activity, there are times where things can be an overload. Executing in a timely manner is probably in the top 3 request of all clients. The biggest challenge is making each client feel like the star they were born to be. This industry has helped me gain an eye for creative direction, entertainment, fashion, business consulting, and even modeling. The sky is the limit in this industry as long as you have the heart and passion for the grind. 

 

After gaining long experience in the industry, I left with the skills that can assist me in any major people and advertisement business. Event planning, person to person promotions, assisting with audio recordings and technology requests, management, copyrights, video recordings, creative direction, graphic and web design, distribution and publishing, uploads and building a habit of working long hours. Sometimes in this industry a person can have sleepless nights. This was a very humbling journey for me deciding I wanted to be the boss for once. This helped me gain management skills and build my knowledge on ownership.

The main outputs developed during my time at the DOE were dealing with database. Once I received/collected mail, the main mission was to insert, update, and delete records and payments inside of the database for student loans within the state of Florida. Once those modifications were made, each of those changes had to be marked down and kept on hard copy file in social security number order.

 

The main challenges working with in the DOE osfa section were being a beginner. I was a student at Tallahassee Community College at the time and had no experience with coding at all. The fear of messing something up inside of such a big organization made me very great listener and everything ended up going fine. The codes were taught to me so that I could maneuver through the database and make changes. My coworkers coached me well and I learned information quite fast.

 

After leaving the DOE osfa section, I left with skills that could assist me in database administration and management, which is actually what I took study in once attending Florida State University on a later date.

This experience makes me a great candidate because it shows a few characteristics about me and  skills I may have learned while being employed there below:

The main products and outputs I had to develop as a part of the goodwill team came in a nice load. The main outputs were clothing materials, toys, kitchen appliances, furniture, and books. The overall mission for this employer was to make sure each and every load was prepared in bins and separated into their own materialistic categories. Once prepared in the warehouse, the next job was to push the rolling bins loaded with materials out to the floor in the “Good Cents” part of the retail store. While customers are in a frenzy and grabbing materials, it was mandatory to help customers, collect shopping carts, clean, or prepare more materials for the next change out in the warehouse.

The main challenges during working with the Goodwill team were mainly the people. Even though you can be a people person, many people still are annoyed by customers and their emotions. People had a high level of disrespect and demand all in one sitting. Becoming able to deal with that challenge has been a very big change in my life, people love you even more when you can take in the bad with the good.

To fulfill each responsibility, making adjustments was one of the most important moves to make. When adjusting I learned to deal with customers no matter the emotion that may be behind them.

 

This experience made me a better candidate for employers in this category because I learned to deal with people instead of being shy and uneasy with emotional people. Learning to be a day in and day out salesman, preparation member, and providing customer service helped me learn to be more at ease. In addition, this was a great introduction into a retail and customer service career

During this experience I learned transferable skills that may be able to help me not only be an average employee in retail and customer service, but also manage a team of warehouse prep employees, salesmen, or customer service reps. This experience makes me a better candidate for employment in warehousing and retail because I’m no stranger to pleasing the customers. The job is always secure in my hand when dealing with customers. Plenty was learned and I obtained skills that can provide future assistance in:
